OUT AND ABOUT

Batt Broadbent is involved fully in the local community. The partners are members of local organisations, including service clubs and business associations. In all our work we can take into account what is happening around us, and contribute what we can to the wider life of the city.

We like to support and promote the Mayor's Appeal, in which each year the Mayor looks to the community to help support a local cause. Some of these causes we also support directly, such as the Salisbury Arts Centre. Similarly, we have supported and sponsored a number of local events, including the Salisbury Festival, several performers at the Medieval Hall and elsewhere in the area, and local choir Sarum Voices, whose roots in Salisbury make it a special cause. We are working with the Playhouse to encourage Theatre in Business, and with local schools to promote work experience for their students. Every year a number of local pupils are given practice in interview technique, and several of them spend time in our offices as clerical assistants or simply to "shadow" the professionals.

The link with the Diocese of Salisbury takes us out into the surrounding areas, as well as linking us to the Cathedral, and to the various local churches, including those of other denominations.

We support the local Chamber of Commerce and City Centre Management, both of which are working for the good of Salisbury as a commercial and cultural centre. Batt Broadbent is dedicated to building its relationship with the community of which it forms part.
