John Batt

False allegations in SalisburyJohn was one of the founding partners of Batt Broadbent in 1964 and has recently rejoined the firm in a Consultancy Role. He acts as a consultant in cases of false allegations, and helped to lead the campaign to overturn the ruling on Sally Clarke. He can often be heard in the media commentating on various issues relating to this area of the law.

John is a published composer and his tone poem Non-Stop was the signature tune of ITN news for 25 years. He has written extensively about the law, being co creator and writer for the television series ‘The Main Chance’ and ‘Justice’ and has written three books. John was born and educated in Salisbury and both his father and uncle were Mayors of the City.
