Sarah is the Senior Registry Clerk. She joined the Registry team in 2002 having worked in commercial agency and property management in London. She works on a range of matters from both the Diocese of Winchester and the Diocese of Salisbury which impact the Bishops, clergy and lay office holders of both Dioceses. Sarah is extremely experienced in ecclesiastical matters and offers advice about marriage law, church governance and parochial fees, burial law and exhumation, churchyards, the faculty jurisdiction and the work of the consistory court and other church-related law.
Sarah and the Registry Team provide training to clergy, parish administrators and other office holders on a range of matters including Governance, Parochial Fees and Marriage Law.
Recent training given includes:
- Parochial fees training and updates to clergy and administrators for the Winchester Diocese
- Legal update for parish administrators in the Diocese of Winchester.
- Marriage Law for curates in the Diocese of Salisbury
- Issues with churchyards, burials and exhumations in the Diocese of Salisbury
Sarah also administers faculty matters on behalf of the consistory court. She deals with the process of licensing, institution or collating clergy to benefices within the Diocese of Winchester and can help with queries relating to patronage.
The registry team are happy to undertake training in conjunction with Diocesan or Cathedral staff as required and work closely with the Diocesan Staff in both Dioceses to help keep clergy and office holders updated.
