Home » About Us
As we hope you will have gathered from our home page, we are a friendly approachable firm. But don’t let that fool you into thinking that this comes at the expense of professionalism. Providing you with a proper professional service is the very crux of what we aim to deliver.
We are proud that a large amount of our work comes either from repeat business or via personal recommendation. We hope that this speaks for itself. In an age of transient loyalties many of our clients consider us to be their “family’s lawyers”. But of course we welcome new clients too.
Inevitably, having our main base in the centre of Salisbury, many of our clients live or work locally and we have strong links with the local community, but we also have an office in Chippenham and act for an eclectic range of people and businesses from across the country.

Our business clients include companies, partnerships and traders, entrepreneurs, developers, professionals and charities, both local and national. We have clients who are just starting out, are growing or scaling down, are selling or buying businesses or premises, who are dealing with services, creating, manufacturing, supplying and distributing their products.
Our private clients range (with apologies to those whose occupations have been omitted and in no particular order), from the owners and managers of the businesses we advise and farmers with large, medium and small agricultural enterprises, to individuals with equestrian interests, occupations in the medical, dentistry, chiropractic, pharmaceutical, banking and accountancy professions, lawyers (we act for many solicitors and barristers around here and in London), independent financial advisers, chefs, estate agents, politicians, office and shop workers, philanthropists, musicians, actors, authors, members of the armed forces, diplomats, publicans and restaurateurs, civil servants, clergy, teachers, IT consultants, members of the emergency services, secretaries, undertakers, pilots, retired people and people who work at home, who bring up children, look after their older relatives, garden, cook, clean, do the paperwork, ferry the children/ grandchildren round, help their neighbours, write scandalous letters to the papers, sing in choirs and the odd band, go rock-climbing, make patchwork quilts, restore vintage cars, belong to U3A, the WI, the Chamber of Commerce, their local church, paint fantastically, take photographs, restore clocks, design jewellery, play polo, sail, ski, hunt, shoot, play golf and tennis (not at the same time, obviously) and generally get on with life, here, there and pretty well everywhere. (Thank goodness for email!)
Every now and then you throw something at us that we really can’t help with – like international shipping law, personal injuries banking mergers or immigration for instance. We don’t have a legal aid franchise and so can’t take on any publically funded civil or any criminal work. In those cases, we will make sure we can point you in the right direction elsewhere.
We really enjoy the variety and range of clients we meet and work with. Many of you are old or new friends. We are always interested in your ventures and projects, family and business changes and additions.
